This concentration places emphasis on the administration of all health and welfare benefits.  Human resource professionals working in benefits administration are responsible for staying abreast of laws regarding benefits such as Health Care Reform, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ERISA, 401k, retirement, and ADA.

7.  Employee Wellness
Within this area, professionals are tasked with carrying out employee wellness initiatives throughout the organization.  This may include facilitating programs such as flu shots and biometric screenings.  These initiatives may be carried out throughout the year or during annual open enrollment.  These individuals oftentimes partner with vendors such as the Employee Assistance Program to offer counseling and coaching services to facilitate employee wellness throughout the business.

8.  Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS)
Maybe you have a passion for technology and computers? HRIS Managers are responsible for providing expertise and technical support for the configuration and maintenance of HRIS products, as well as timely response to issues and reporting. Here, you work collaboratively with HR professionals in the development of HR systems used to maintain personnel data, job specific information, and payroll.  HRIS Specialists will partner with HR staff in the implementation and redesign of systems and processes.
