For those of us in the HR Information Systems, HRMS and HR and payroll software industries, the summer and the Holidays tend to be the slowest time of the year for web traffic. That’s not happening. In June, where we were expecting at least a 10% drop in traffic, we actually had a record month for traffic and for uses of our HR software solution selection tool. July is off to a great start as well. This surprising uptick in traffic makes me ask if they economy is starting to rebound. Is the worst behind us? Does the fact that more HR departments appear to be researching HR software an indication that the economy is growing again?
I’m not an economist so I’m not going to read a bunch of statistics or quote financial news sources that I don’t understand. At the very least, however, it appears that job losses have started to stabilize, the market is growing again and houses are starting to sell again.
I’ve chatted with a number of HRIS vendors in the HRMS software industry and they are all reporting at the very least modest traffic increases at a time of the year that traffic should be decreasing. I don’t want to jinx myself but I think at the very least confidence from the HR industry seems to be lifting at least a little. What are your thoughts?
