I have not written a Clay’s rant recently because I guess I have been just too happy to rant. Well, once again a situation arose today that demanded a rant. I realized that when I became involved with CompareHRIS.com that helpful valuable content for our visitors was extremely important. I went into this business with the goal that we would provide the most helpful site available on HRIS systems and a wide range of helpful articles was important for this concept to work. It’s amazing how many sites I encounter that steal our content without even giving me or CompareHRIS.com the credit.
I received a Google alert today on HRIS and under a blog post someone had taken our article, HRIS and HRMS Software Training Management Defined, used it as their own and not even provided any links back to our site or any mention of who created the article; Me! I have not really gone after other sites who have been taking our articles until now. I’m finally fed up. I am going to spend some time this month determining who has stolen HR software articles from us, did not provide us credit, and request that they remove the articles from their site immediately before we proceed with legal action.
If you have been stealing our content, I would stop doing so. Or, at the very least, you might want to make sure you are giving us the credit for creating the content.
